Current Reseach
Her research focuses on the role of audit in corporate governance. In this respect, the audit regulation in the EU after financial and corporate crisis will be examined. The starting point of exploring the role of audit in corporate failures will be the Enron scandal in US. The main issues of auditing will be examined as presented in the European Commission's Statutory Audit Directive of 2006 and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and the EU Green Paper on Audit Policy 2010.
The research will indicate a comparative study of the EU and Turkey. It is the aim finding the answer the question of; 'to what extend convergence of audit markets is feasible to fight against market failures (and/or mitigate the aftermaths) through uniform accounting and auditing standards? '.
