LMC Roles and Responsibilities
The following list outlines the roles and responsibilities of those people involved in the Knowledge Transfer Partnership.
LMC Chair (Senior company representative)

Attends and chairs each LMC
- Is responsible for preparing and delivering the Chairman's Report at each LMC which details any changes in company performance or structure that may affect the KTP
- Has a monthly meeting with the associate and supervisors to ensure the smooth running of the project from the company perspective
- Ensures that the company resources meet the needs of the project
- Is involved in the recruitment of the associate
Company Supervisor

Provides day to day support and guidance to the associate
- Attends the New Supervisors Workshop with the Academic Supervisor the designated supervisors' day as part of the Associate's training modules
- Supervises the project on behalf of company
- Is responsible for preparing and delivering the Company Supervisor's report at each LMC which details the progress of the project from the company perspective
- Is involved in the recruitment of the associate
Company Facilitator
- Is responsible for ensuring that the agreed aims for the company, the university and the associate are being achieved
- Completes the Benefits and Achievements Log which continually charts the progress and benefits for everyone in the partnership. This document is presented at every LMC
- Ensures that the company's part of the final report is completed
Lead Academic

Holds the budget for the project (authorises expenditure within KTP guidelines)
- Is usually the first supervisor for the Associate's higher degree
- Is responsible for preparing and delivering the Lead Academic's report at each LMC which details the progress of the project from the university perspective
- Ensures that the Associate receives an induction into the department
- Ensures that the university part of the final report is completed
- Visits the company half a day a week as appropriate in conjunction with Academic Supervisor
- Is involved in the recruitment of the Associate
- Makes sure that university resources are in place for the associate to use
Academic Supervisor
- Attends the New Supervisors Workshop and the designated Supervisor's Day as part of the Associates training modules
- Is the line manager for the Associate
- Is responsible for preparing and delivering the Academic Supervisor's report which details the progress of the project from the university perspective
- Is usually the second supervisor for the Associate's higher degree
- Is involved in the recruitment of the associate
- Visits the company half a day a week as appropriate in conjunction with the Lead Academic
