Editing Process and Timeline
After submission, each full article undergoes the following process (book reviews are reviewed only by the reviews editor).

Articles to Chief Editor |
Chief Editor checks that the article complies with the basic Submission Guidelines, including:
If these basic guidelines are not met, the Chief Editor returns the article to the author, who may resubmit within four days. Otherwise the Chief Editor:

Submissions with Sub-Editor from most relevant discipline |
Sub-Editors decide on peer reviewers, and disseminate articles plus peer review packs |

Submissions passed to Peer-Reviewers |
Peer-reviewers provide a response on rejection or acceptance, and provide detailed feedback for the article author using the Editorial Report Form. Reviewers will recommend one of the following:
If rejected by the peer-reviewers, the article returns to the Sub-Editor, who sends an immediate notice of rejection. In the event of a significant discrepancy between the two peer reviewer reports, or between both reports and the opinion of the editor, the Sub-Editor will pass the original article on to a member of the academic advisory board to arbitrate. |

Sub-Editor contacts author with decision.
Reviews Editor contacts reviewers if corrections need to be made. |
If accepted with revisions, the Sub-Editor collates the comments of the two peer-reviewer and returns the marked-up document, the peer-reviewers' Editorial Report Forms, and a conditional acceptance letter to the author.
If rejected, the editor sends a notice of rejection to the author, as well as the Editorial Report Forms |

Authors go through marked-up document and Editorial Report Forms and make revisions as necessary |

Authors and reviewers return corrected article to relevant Sub-Editor |
Corrected article returned to Chief Editor. |

Articles circulated to the All Editors for final proofing |
All Editors check final document, correcting any technical errors (e.g. missing line breaks). |

Technical Editor prepares document for typesetting |
Word documents restyled according to Gylphi stylesheet |

Articles circulated to Proof-reading team |
External proof readers check documents, correcting any copy errors |

10 |
Complete issue passed to Gylphi for typesetting |
Gylphi typeset articles, and bundle into complete PDF of issue |

Typeset proofs returned to Chief Editor |
All Editors check final document, correcting any technical errors (e.g. missing line breaks). |

Corrected proofs returned to Gylphi for final amendments |
Amendments at this stage must be minimal. |

Finished issue |
Issue ready for publication, subject to final approval from the Academic Advisory Board and Institute of Advanced Study. |
