With the next generation of astronomical surveys just around the corner, this workshop comes as an opportunity to strengthen the ties in survey science between Edinburgh and Durham. The aim of the forthcoming DEX VI workshop is to discuss the ongoing research being undertaken at both institutes that exploits data from both wide and deep extragalactic multiwavelength surveys, including (but not limited to):

- Pan-STARRS, UKIDSS LAS & VST-ATLAS: large area imaging surveys, with optical to near infra-red coverage.

- UKIDSS DXS & UDS, HiZELS, SCUBA2 CLS: wide and deep imaging surveys, with near-IR to sub-mm coverage, to study the multiwavelength aspect of galaxy formation between z~1 to z~3.

- GAMA: large area spectroscopic survey with UV to far-IR coverage, to study the galaxy-halo connection on sub-Mpc scales and the galaxy stellar mass assembly up to z~0.5

- From Chandra, XMM-Newton & Spitzer: Wide and deep surveys including as GOODS, the CDF surveys, FIDEL, SpUDS and Spitzer SERVS providing clues to the AGN-starburst connection and the hidden nature of heavily obscured AGNs at high redshifts.
