Young and Early Career Researchers' Meeting 2010

The RSC Photochemistry Group promotes interest in all aspects of photochemistry, including:


•    excited state kinetics, in solution and in the gas phase
•    synthetic chemistry - dyes, light-emitting compounds, fluorescent sensors, etc.
•    photonics and solar energy conversion
•    photocatalysis
•    instrumentation.


The Young Researchers' Meeting will provide an opportunity for postgraduate students, post-doctoral researchers and their supervisors to meet others working in the field, and to present their work in the form of a poster or oral presentation.

Abstracts are invited on research which falls within the areas of interest of the group.  A number of abstracts will be selected for short oral presentation, whilst a poster session will form a major part of the meeting.



The meeting will open and close with keynote lectures by:

Professor Hugh Burrows                          University of Coimbra, Portugal



Registration fees:      Students  £20         RSC Members  £35          Non-members  £50

Registration covers lunch, refreshment breaks and book of abstracts.


Venue:  Durham University Chemistry Department

•    close to Durham railway station on the East Coast mainline
•    within 1 h of Newcastle airport and Durham Tees Valley airport.

Please remember to indicate in a covering e-mail whether you wish your abstract to be considered for oral presentation.
