Converting Papyrus data to Endnote

It is possible to convert bibliographies created in Papyrus into Endnote format. You may need to download the file pap7_en.flb.

  1. Start Papyrus Choose Format from the Papyrus menu.
  2. At the Format Option Menu, choose Library.
  3. Select the path line in the Format Library dialog, and enter the path to your Papyrus directory, such as J:pap.

    PAP7_EN.FLB Papyrus 7 to EndNote Export Format will be selected.

  4. Press the Enter Key.

    A message Is this the Library you intended? will be displayed.

  5. Press Enter or type PAP7_EN.FLB

    Papyrus 7 to EndNote Export Format will be selected.

  6. Press the Enter Key.

    A message Is this the Library you intended? will be displayed.

  7. Press Enter or type Y.

    The Format Library option will appear.

  8. Choose Copy from Library.

    A message Copy which format: appears.

  9. Type EndNote and press Enter.

    A message will display Format successfully copied from Library.

  10. Press Esc to return to Papyrus Main menu. Choose List Enter, Numeric Enter, Beginning Enter End Enter.

    The List Format Information dialog will appear.

    Make sure that EndNote is specified as the format and that abstracts and keywords are not truncated.

  11. Choose File for the output device, and specify ASCII as the output format. Give output file the name PAPDATA.TXT.
  12. Start EndNote, select Cancel if EndNote presents you with a dialog asking you to select a reference library file.
  13. From the File menu choose New to create a new library.
  14. Give the library a name, and press Enter.

    You should see Showing 0 out of 0 References at the top of the new Library window.

  15. Select Import from the File menu. From Import Options, select Refer/BibIX.
  16. Then click on the File button, and locate and select the PAPDATA.TXT file that you created in Step 12.
  17. Select OK, then press Enter to start the import.
