Erasmus for Durham students

Have you ever thought about spending part of your Durham degree abroad?
Durham has been an active participant in the Erasmus Programme since its beginnings in 1987. Under the programme Durham offers students the chance to:
- study abroad at one of the University's Erasmus partner universities. Study periods abroad will depend on your academic programme at Durham.
- undertake work placements abroad which need to be an integral part of your degree programme and need to have been approved by your department.
In both cases the placement period spent abroad can be between a minimum of 3 months up to a maximum of 12 months.
Erasmus is a truly European programme. Currently all EU countries as well as the EEA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) and candidate country Turkey participate in the programme. Switzerland is currently an indirect participant in the new Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP).
All Erasmus placement(s) must be recognised as part of your Durham degree programme. For more information contact the Exchanges and Study Abroad Team at the International Office or enquire with the Exchange Coordinator in your department.
