January 2012 Photo Competition Winners Announced
(15 February 2012)
1st Place, January 2012
In 2012 Durham International Office is holding a monthly photography competition.
The theme for January's competition was 'New Year, New Beginnings', and prospective and current students were asked to submit images that they felt reflected this theme. The winners for January's competition have now been selected. They are:
1st place: Zou Jing Chang, for their image 'Lake of the Declining Sun' taken in Guilin, China.
2nd place: Yun Li, for their image 'Working Hard in the New Year' taken in a theatre in Hubei, China.
3rd place: Wong Ming San (Andy), for their image 'Wisdom' taken in Yunnan, China.
There were so many wonderful images that we had a real hard time choosing our winners for January. All of the images submitted for the January competition can be viewed on our Flickr site.
Our February photography competition was launched on the 10th February with the theme of 'I Love Durham'. We really look forward to receiving your images.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Professor Jon Davidson, North America Regional Interest Group Lead, hosted a Thanksgiving Reception on Thursday 24th November 2011 in the Calman Learning Centre. American students and staff came along for a thanksgiving buffet and to watch what we could find of the American Football! We hope everyone enjoyed the evening and that the strong American community here at Durham here continues to grow.
