Postage & Payment
Currently, you can submit your Tier 4 Student Visa application (and any Dependant applications) in 2 ways: by post or in person, at a UKBA Public Enquiry Office.
Applying by post
This is the cheapest way of applying for your Tier 4 Student Visa in the UK. You should post your application form (together with application forms for any dependants applying at the same time as you) to the postal address shown on the front page of your application form.
It is recommended that you send your application(s) by Special Delivery from the Post Office. This will ensure the safety of any important documents you need to send and will allow you to track the delivery of your application form online.
Remember that if you apply by post, we recommend that you post your application well before the date your visa expires.
Once you have posted your application(s) you may receive a letter confirming that your application has been received (though this is not always provided).
You can also apply in person at a Public Enquiry Office.
Paying for your application
If you apply by post, you can use any of the ways stated on the application form to pay the fee.
Paying for your application by Postal Order
To pay for your application using Postal Orders, you must first buy them from the Post Office. At the Post Office, ask for a Postal Orders for the value of £394*. Also, ask for the Postal Orders to be made payble to ‘Home Office’. The maximum amount for 1 Postal Order is £250 and therefore you will be given 2 Postal Orders making up the full value.
*there is an additional charge of approximately £12.50 for each Post Order (maximum £250, see above).
