IMEMS and Postgraduate Study

The IMEMS offers postgraduates at Durham a variety of opportunity. The Institute hosts its own specific MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies that offers students access to the remarkable wealth of resources and expertise available in Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Durham University. In addition the University offers a range of complementary MA programmes on which students can specialise in aspects of study relating to Medieval and Renaissance themes. In addition PhD students benefit from a varied and diverse range of expertise on Medieval and Renaissance topics.

A vibrant community of taught and research postgraduates attend and participate in the IMEMS Seminar Series and conferences, colloquia and events throughout the year. The IMEMS considers its graduate body to be essential to the research ethos of the Institute and supports and sponsors the Medieval and Early Modern Student Association (MEMSA) and assists this forum in organising seminars, workshops and an annual conference. In addition the IMEMS offers a unique summer training course, the Latin and Palaeography Summer School, which provides an intensive training in Palaeography, together with revision of Latin language skills.
