The Book of Durrow and the Lindisfarne Gospels

The lecture will focus on the re-thinking the relationship between the Book and Durrow and the Lindisfarne Gospels in light of new archaeological discoveries and new research, particularly on the Lindisfarne Gospels.

Nancy Netzer is Director of Boston College's McMullen Museum of Art and tenured Professor of Art History in the Department of Fine Arts at Boston College. She received her Ph.D. from Harvard University in medieval art history in 1987. In June 2000, she received an honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of Ulster in recognition of her contribution to the study of Irish art. She is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
