Seminar - Policing and police/community relations at London 2012

Richard Giulianotti, Professor in the School of Applied Social Sciences (Sociology and Criminology), will present a seminar entitled 'Policing and police/community relations at London 2012'.

This seminar discusses a forthcoming ESRC project which will be undertaken with colleagues from the LSE and Brunel University, investigating ‘Policing and Police-Community Relations at London 2012’.  The project will explore in particular how the police define and respond to ‘Olympic-Related Crime’, as well as how police-community relations are negotiated before, during and after the Olympic Games.  The project is scheduled to last 27 months.
