Gilesgate Energy Exhibition
The Gilesgate Energy Exhibition is being hosted by the School of Applied Social Sciences (SASS) and the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) at Durham University, and the Laurel Avenue Community Centre. It is part of a new programme of research called ‘Transcending Risks: Promoting Community Resilience’ developed jointly by SASS and IHRR.
The Exhibition will bring together community residents in the Gilesgate area of Durham: policy makers, social scientists, physical scientists, engineers, renewable energy companies, and community workers will together look at how renewable energy can be used to build community resilience in this part of Durham.
