Seminar - Older persons in an ageing world: Redefining retirement

Terry Hokenstad is Professor of Global Health, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.  Demographic and social change in the 21st Century is creating both challenges and opportunities for older people and their roles in society.  This seminar will examine the changes taking place and the challenges they create.  It will then focus on the concept of 'active aging in a changing society'.  Emphasis will be given to implications for retirement policies and programmes.
