New grant to support feasibility study into developing an underground laboratory

IHRR has received funding from One NorthEast in collaboration with Cleveland Potash Ltd to conduct a feasibility study into the development of an underground geoscience laboratory at the Boulby potash mine. The project will employ three post-doctoral staff, two of whom will be concerned with the underground geology and geophysics and the third with surface monitoring. The project will also have a part-time secretary and technician. Work is due to start on April 1st 2009 and the project will run for 18 months.
