Meeting on Health Risky Behaviour
(11 July 2011)
The joint meeting held between IHRR and the Durham Health Forum about research on smoking behaviours and their implications for public health was a huge success.
Dr Andrew Russell from Anthropology and Dr Sue Lewis with the Research Design Service in Durham presented research on smoking behaviour in young people and why women who live in the North East smoke more than men. They were joined by Anna Lynch, Director of Public Health for NHS County Durham and NHS Darlington, who gave a presentation on reducing health risky behaviour.
The event received extensive media coverage including reports from the Guardian, the Journal, ITV and Radio Newcastle.
