Dave Petley assists AU government in river bank collapse management

(14 February 2011)

Prof Dave Petley met with Australia's Department of Water to share his knowledge on managing river bank collapse.

From the press release issued by Australia's Department of Water:

“Our team will meet with Professor Petley and a number of other notable experts from around Australia to discuss the local impacts of riverbank collapse and draw on his international expertise and understanding of related events."

“It’s great to be able to glean detailed information from Professor Petley to supplement the Department’s existing knowledge, particularly regarding an issue like riverbank collapse which has not been commonly experienced across Australia.”

Prof Petley also gave two public seminars in Adelaide on coastal cliff erosion and the impact of landslides triggered by earthquakes.
