Durham University Humanist and Secularist Society, DUHSS, seeks to promote understanding and interest in secular philosophy. Our aims include providing a forum for non-religious individuals to meet and discuss issues of interest to them and to raise awareness of non-religious views, especially those concerning Durham University and the student body.
Humanists strive to encourage people to look at the world rationally, rejecting all forms of superstition. For a more comprehensive overview of Humanistic beliefs, take a look at the British Humanist Association, the International Humanist and Ethical Union, or read more on wikipedia.
We welcome anyone who wants to discuss possible alternatives to organised religion, even if you have not considered it before!
Please check out our Facebook group, and feel free to join if you're interested in us. Any events we host will also be listed there.
