Regional Interest Groups
Durham University has recently developed a number of Regional Interest Groups (RIGs) which bring together inter- disciplinary Durham academics with shared interests in the following global regions:
- Middle East and North Africa
- Central and South Asia
- East and South East Asia (to incl. Japan and China sub-groups)
- Latin America and the Caribbean
- North America
Each group meets once a term and provides researchers with a focused forum in which to share regional expertise, ideas, enables the development of cross-disciplinary research projects, in addition to supporting the development of academic partnerships within these regions.
The International Office has also developed the International Office Guidance for Staff intranet site on DUO to enable easy information sharing on regional activities and opportunities, as well as to facilitate greater interaction of members between meetings. The International Office Guidance for Staff course can be found on the International Office DUO pages.
