Welcome to the Hill Orchestra's website. We are Durham's most relaxed, sociable and fun orchestra, open to all members of the University of Durham. Whilst members aren't auditioned, we maintain a high standard and encourage members to be of an adequate standard to cope with a wide range of orchestral music.

Players are welcome to just turn up towards the start of term - it is not necessary to have signed up at the Freshers' Fair, as we do not place any limit on numbers. If you are interested in joining once term is underway, you are encouraged to email us first. See How to Join to find out more!

Rehearsals

We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 8:00-9:45 in St. Aidan's College dining hall.

There will be a break about halfway through the rehearsal (including FREE biscuits!). After rehearsals, come and join us in the bar!

Concerts

We normally hold one concert per term - a Christmas Concert, a concert in the spring, and a tour after exams in the summer.
