College of St Hild and St Bede

The Caedmon Complex

The Caedmon Complex dates from the early 1960s and is situated on the former Bede site. It contains the College Dining Hall, the College Bar and Caedmon Hall. With a total capacity for 700 people it is the ideal venue for many events, including Balls and the annual College Day, and allows for high participation by the student body, without having to move off-site.

The extensive Bede Lawns and the Adam Thurston Terrace, both of which are adjacent to the complex and have dramatic views of Durham, provide additional outdoor space for social events.

Major refurbishment of the facilities has taken place during the last few years.
