Visit Hild and Bede
Pre-application Open Days - Durham City
- Monday 25 June 2012
- Saturday 30 June 2012
- Saturday 22 September 2012
Booking a place
Booking is required for open days. The booking system will open approximately six weeks in advance of the open days. We do expect our open days to be very busy, you are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. There is also likely to be a limited amount of University managed accommodation available. Places will be limited and therefore pre-booking will be required. For further information please see the University's 'Visit Us' pages.
Other Visits
If you are not able to attend the pre-application open day, we are happy to receive visitors at other times. If you would like to visit the College you can contact hildbede.college@durham.ac.uk (Tel +44 (191) 334 48300). If it isn't possible to arrange a guided tour, you should still be able to collect a self-guided tour from reception, which will suggest a route round the College and tell you about the College facilities. Outside of the University term it is not always possible for visitors to see all areas of College, common rooms and accommodation owing to conferences staying in the College. We do advise therefore that you do contact College in advance of any visit. Term and vacation dates can be found at http://www.dur.ac.uk/dates/
Post-application Open Days
The University holds Post-Application Open Days specifically for candidates holding an offer without interview. These are designed to give you, albeit briefly, a taste of the unique Durham student experience. If you are holding an offer you are strongly encouraged to attend the full Open Day programme and to stay overnight in the College, to experience college life and enable you to make a more informed choice of University.
If you are allocated a place at Hild-Bede, we will send you an invitation to our post-application Open Day. The Open Day will include a stay overnight in College the evening before. At the Open Day you will be looked after by a team of current students thus providing you with the opportunity of finding out what life is really like in the College. In addition you will have an informal talk with a College Personal Tutor in order that you can be informed about specific issues in relation to your time at Durham.
