The Chaplain

The Chaplain is Dr. Anthony Bash, a Church of England priest and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Theology and Religion at the University.

In his role as Chaplain, Anthony is happy to see any member of the College community, whether student or staff and whether of faith or no faith.  His room is on the second floor of Rectory and he can be contacted on 0191 334 2636 (internal Ext. 42636) or via pigeon hole (outside the Bursar's office in Rectory building) or via email: anthony.bash@durham.ac.uk

Services are held weekly in the College Chapel, usually on Fridays in term time at 5.30pm.  The ethos of the Chapel is one of open enquiry, personal integrity and respect for others.  Anthony is also available at other times to meet those who wish thoughtfully to explore questions to do with faith and life.
