Pastoral Care

The Senior Tutor  and the Tutor for Postgraduates work together to provide support for College members.  If you have a problem - financial, academic or personal - you can make an appointment to talk to either of them.

Affiliate Members of the MCR should email the Tutor for Postgraduates with their enquiry in the first instance.

MCR Welfare Support

The MCR elect a Welfare Officer (who is a member of the MCR Exec) and an Assistant Welfare Officer.  (The Welfare Officer and Assistant are of opposite genders).  The Welfare Officer and Assistant offer informal advice and support to postgraduate students, and hold regular surgeries, usually at James Barber House in the Welfare Room.

College Mentors

College Mentors provide pastoral care for undergraduate students.  This entails offering a friendly and listening ear to a group of about 25 students.  Mentors work within a framework and guidelines  to comply with the minimum expections of the role.  Research Postgraduate students, who can offer a minimum of three years as a Mentor, with relevant experience can apply to become College Mentors for undergraduate students.  For more information contact the Senior Tutor.
