Whilst at Durham, there are several opportunities to get involved in welfare; be it at Grey, through Nightline and even at the DSU.
College WelfareThere is an opportunity to get involved in the College Welfare Team during the second term of the year.
You can also stand for either Male or Female Welfare Officers during Epiphany term.
If you are considering standing for either the Welfare Team of for Officers, feel free to get in touch with the current team to find out more!
NightlineShortly after you arrive during the first term and again in the second term, Nightline run a training weekend that aims to teach you listening skills and gives you a chance to become a Nightliner (see their website for details).
You don't have to want to become a Nightliner to go on the weekend; it is a really beneficial weekend for anyone to take part in.
Anyone considering running for any college exec or ex-officio position would benefit from this free training. We also ask that those who become a member of the welfare team have been on the weekend.
Look out for emails and posters telling you when the weekend is being run.
