President's Guest Night (more commonly referred to as PGN) is a celebratory event that traditionally takes place in the Epiphany Term, in the week following Barfest. A night that creates many facebook albums, PGN is one of the highlights of the Grey Social Calendar and is organised by the JCR President. Invitations are distributed to sports, societies and committees to give to their most deserving members, a select few of which receives college colours on the evening in recognition of their outstanding achievement for their sport, society or committee.
Over the past few years, this event has been held in some grand locations, including the Assembly Rooms in Newcastle, the Ramside Country Hotel in Durham, the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead and the Hardwick Hall Country Hotel in Sedgefield. Always popular with staff and students alike, PGN always promises a great night of food, entertainment, time with friends and plenty of Grey Spirit.
