Further to my earlier email this term, here is a reminder of the Library times for Michaelmas 2012.
Tuesday: 12pm-2pm, 6pm-9pm
Wednesday: 12pm-3pm, 6pm-9pm
Thursday: 12pm-3pm, 6pm-9pm
Friday: 12pm-3pm, 6pm-9pm
Saturday: 11am-4pm, 6pm-8pm
Sunday: 11am-4pm, 6pm-9pm

- Stationary (from paper to geometry sets, highlighters and mechanical pencils)
- Toiletries (tampons, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and more!)
- Cupboard essentials (pasta and pasta sauce, nutella, biscuits, tea, sugar and loads more!!)
- Canned drinks - coke for just 39p, and many more for only 50p
- And of course sweets

2. The snack vending machine in Holgate is broken at the moment - I'm working on getting it fixed but the company who own it aren't great so no idea how long it will take! Sorry! Stock up at shop in the mean time!
3. We love how much you guys have been using the new library but there's been a lot of mess left recently- wrappers from food and tea stains on the new desks. PLEASE make sure you leave the library tidy otherwise we may have to ban food and drink in the library and we really don't want to have to do that!

Grey Library is now open!!
Opening times are 12-3 and 6-9 weekdays
and
11-3 and 6-9 weekends
It's not quite finished so please bare this in mind! Everything should be completed soon!

Evening Grey,
Happy new year everyone! I hope you had a lovely Christmas!
As many of you may have seen Grey library is not ready yet but the new shelves are in and it’s being decorated so hopefully it will be soon! In the mean time we still have use of Collingwood library. There is now a ‘Grey only’ shelf there for Grey library books that have been returned so that new people can take them out so please try to return your books to Collingwood!
So,
- Collingwood library is for the use of Grey students as well Collingwood’s and is open 12-9 weekdays and 11-9 weekends. The library has a book drop for out of hours when the library is closed and is located around the side of the library building.
- To get to Collingwood library you need to head towards Collingwood reception but turn left before going down the stairs to the turning circle outside the main entrance, once you have turned left you will see a dirt road ahead of you, go down this and the library is in a separate bungalow on the left hand side. The code to get in is C0917 (although you will not always need it). It’s very simple to find but if anyone gets stuck give me a shout!
- Grey students can take out Collingwood books or any books that have been returned to Collingwood library (these can be found on the Grey only shelf there)
- You can return your books to Collingwood library.
- You can request books and they will be ordered in and you can collect them from Collingwood when they arrive. You can request books by going into the library, emailing me or emailing Germaine Holmes.
If you desperately need a book which is only available at Grey library let me or Germaine Holmes know and we will try to sort something out, although as Grey is still technically a building site we can’t guarantee anything!
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you, I'll keep you posted on the status of our library!

As it's the start of term and we lost a lot of staff over the summer opening times will be a bit less to begin with for the library. However we're in the process of training up some new guys so its should be better very soon!!!
At the moment the library will be open:
Fri 7th 6-9
Sat 8th 12-3
Sun 9th 11-1
Mon 10th 12-3 and 7-9
Tues 11th 11-2.30 and 7-9
Weds 12th 12-1 and 7-9
Thurs 13th 11-3 and 6-9
Fri 14th 6-9
Sat 15th 12-3 and 6-9
Sun 16th 11-1
If it changes at all I'll let you know!
Remember; if we don't have your text book you can request it and we'll buy it in for you! So there's no need for you to spend loads on text books!

Several things from me...
First: Sadly, there's going to be quite a few of library comm leaving at the end of this year and this means we need replacements! So Library interviews with me and Germaine (the librarian) will be happening next Thurs 16th during the day (and if needed Tues 21st) so please let me know by Midday on Weds 15th if you would like to apply for a job on library and any prefernaces for time so I can sort out an interview timetable. Being part of library is a paid job like the bar so you need to be reliable and able to work at least 2 hours a week.
Second: The library is offering a text book buying service! If you feel your old text books will be of use to others in the library please grab one of the forms which will be hanging in a wallet in the library on the noticeboard after Tuesday and fill it out with all the books you are willing to sell on and drop it into the book returns box. If we need them Germaine will get in touch and sort out all the rest! We'll be looking to buy them off you at half the price we'd normally be able to get them for!
Third: The library still has some of its budget left so remember to keep requests for text books and DVDs coming in!! Also the collection of DVDs is growing so make sure to make use of them on hangover days and quiet evenings! You can browse them anytime!
Finally: Shop will be open every night but Wednesdays and formal nights and will be stocked up with a good variety of sweets and 40p kettle chips so take advantage of the cheap snacks! =]

You can now order whole boxes of sweets and mixers for Grey day!!! Just let me know what you want and I'll make sure they're there waiting for you to collect on the day and save you the trek up the hill!!! Sweet-wise you can have anything you'd normally see on the shop or ask for anything you think I might be able to get!
