The Victor Watts library holds over 7000 books and is open to Grey students only. Most core texts are stocked and are less likely to be out on loan the whole time than at the University Library. Plus the whole layout is much more user friendly than the enormous maze-like main library so Grey is well worth a look first. It is also extremely handy being near your room for the inevitable coffee breaks come exam time! The librarian, is always happy to order in new requests for books so make sure you use this service and make the library even more useful for everyone. Students may take out up to six books at a time (the loan period is three weeks), and fines are cheaper than those in the University Library. There is also a study area, open 24 hours a day, which is useful change of scenery when working solidly in your room gets too much.

Grey College Chapel holds services and is also the venue for many concerts and choir practices. Its beautiful grand piano is available for student pianists to practice in their spare time and it makes for a quiet, reflective meeting place for Grey's Christian Union. It also holds some of the finest artwork in the college, including a crucifix especially commissioned for Grey by renowned wood sculptor Fenick Lawson.

Need to burn off those calories / alcohol units / pizzas? Grey's very own gym is here to help! Recently refurbished, it contains plenty of equipment, including rowing machines, treadmills, a cross-trainer, exercise bikes and weights. Membership is much less than the University gym and it covers both a gym introductory talk in the Michaelmas Term and the upkeep and improvement of the equipment.

Grey has its very own theatre company and its very own stage, located in Fountains Hall to the side of Holgate accommodation block. Several plays are put on every term and everyone can muck in to help act, produce and make costumes and set.

The college shop is located in the JCR and is open most nights of the week. It sells a good variety of foot items, from penny sweets to pasta, as well as other necessities like stationary and condoms.

The toastie bar is a new addition to Grey this year. Run by students, the toastie bar offers a cheap snack for those late night munchies.

Grey has a full size tennis court at the bottom of the main drive. A perfect way to let off steam after exams. It can get busy so make sure you book at reception to avoid disappointment. The court is also used for training by many of Grey's sports teams, such as the Netball and Basketball teams.

The Sydney Holgate Snooker Room is open to all Grey students. Situated in the Oswald block, it does pretty much what it says on the tin - it has a high quality, full size snooker table, and is available most days until 11.00pm at night, although you may have to book at Reception. There's also a pool table in the JCR which is available for all to use.

Believe it or not, you will have to do some washing during your time at Grey! Each block has its own set of washing machines and tumble dryers, which run on a key fob which you can top by from the machine by Reception. Most machines have powder in them already and even if yours don't, there are plenty of places to get some once you are here.
