Communities

The Common Rooms are not only physical locations within the college, but they are also communities of students and staff.
Junior Common Room
The Junior Common Room is the undergraduate (and postgraduate by opting in) student body of Grey College. With around 800 members it is very lively community, currently run independently of the University, so it is essentially a mini version of a Student Union. The JCR is run by the JCR Executive Committee which consists of officers elected by the JCR. Many other positions are also available within the JCR as well as membership of committees such as the Ball, Social and Grey Day committees. The room called the JCR is located within the main College building, Hollingside and features a pool table, 60" rear-projection TV with surround sound and vending machines. In 2012, the JCR was extended to provide a new shop, JCR office and space for small meetings and quiet relaxation. For more information, visit the Grey JCR website.
Middle Common Room
The Middle Common Room has recently been revived to serve postgraduates in a similar fashion to the Junior Common Room. The MCR is run independently of the College but shares inclusion in most JCR activities. The MCR is currently located in the Phoenix Room in Elvet. The MCR also runs a number of events in conjunction with the SCR. For more information, visit the Grey MCR website.
Senior Common Room
The Senior Common Room consists mostly of academic staff of the University, College Fellows, College Mentors, some postgraduate students and a number of influential members of the local and regional community. For more information, visit the Grey SCR website.
