Cluster Aims

The overall aim of the Politics–State–Space research cluster is to foster an environment conducive to the advancement of leading edge and internationally recognised scholarship in the field. Through an ongoing series of workshops, seminars, visiting scholar programmes, and conferences, we aim to encourage and advance dialogue within the field and, particularly, across disciplinary boundaries with the arts, humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. There are two key principles guiding the development of the cluster and its activities:

  • To enable the sharing of ideas, work in progress, concepts and analysis, such that the work of the group is highly present in international peer-reviewed publications, international conferences, and other leading fora.
  • To support the development of research projects, including but not limited to the active support of research funding applications for grants, fellowships, postgraduate studentships and postdoctoral fellowships.
