Gordon MacLeod to be Critical Surveys Editor for Flagship Journal
(2 December 2010)
Dr Gordon MacLeod has been appointed Critical Surveys Editor for the leading journal Regional Studies, published by the Regional Studies Association.
Dr MacLeod beat off a strong field of candidates for the post and will replace Professor Robert Hassink of Kiel University who has held the post for five years. Dr MacLeod says “Regional Studies is the journal of choice for anyone studying regions and its Critical Surveys section plays a crucial role in fostering debates.”
Dr MacLeod’s research examines the relationships and tensions between urban development, governance and city politics; regional development, regional governance and politics, regionalism and identity; and the spatiality of the contemporary state.
RSA Chair, Professor David Bailey, Coventry University says “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr MacLeod as Critical Surveys editor for Regional Studies. His research interests place him ideally to reflect on key international debates and to build on the vibrancy that Robert Hassink has brought to this important section of our flagship journal.”
