Mature Student Spring and Summer Taster Programmes

NEXT 4-DAY TASTER EVENT RUNS:
To be announced.
If you are an adult with no formal qualifications or have been away from education for some time and would like to study for a degree then the Mature Student Spring or Summer Programme is for you.
The four-day programme of taster events is free and provides a gentle introduction to the Foundation Centre, and what you can expect when you study at Durham University.
On each of the four days you will be introduced to a new topic, from anthropology to writing essays and from biology to the World Wide Web, giving a friendly, jargon free look at some of the learning options open to mature students in higher education.
There will be an opportunity to meet existing and past Foundation Centre students who will help you to get acquainted with the University and will provide first-hand experiences about returning to education as an adult at Durham University.
Foundation Centre staff will be providing the taster sessions and will be on hand throughout the taster sessions to answer your questions. There is also a special session to discuss the practical aspects of learning as an adult, including fees and finances.
All Spring/Summer School participants will receive a certificate of achievement from Durham University Foundation Centre. There is no obligation to progress to the Foundation Centre although some places may still be available for the new academic year beginning in October.
Anyone interested in coming along to the Mature Student Spring/Summer Programme or wanting to know more about the Foundation Centre should email us, or phone us on 0191 3340172, or complete our online form.
The Foundation Centre offers progression to a range of Durham University degrees.
