Freedom of Information

Manner of Publication

How Information is Made Available

Durham University primarily publishes information in three ways:

  • Website - Most of the information we make readily publicly available is through the University website at http://www.dur.ac.uk/.  Accessing information on our website is free of charge.  If you do not have access to the internet, you may contact the University (Requesting Information) and a copy of the information will be printed and posted to you.  There may be a charge for this service to cover costs (please see "Charges" for details of the University's standard charging mechanism).
  • Email - Information that is routinely provided via email is free of charge.  Such information is not always archived; therefore, copies may not be available retrospectively or electronically.  If you are interested in any information available via email, please contact the University (Requesting Information).
  • Hard copy - Information only available in hard copy will normally incur a charge.  You will be notified of the cost before the information is sent to you so that you can decide whether you wish to proceed before being invoiced.  The University operates a Standard Charging Mechanism (Charges) although certain documents or publications may incur specific fees.  If you are interested in any hardcopy information, please contact the University (Requesting Information).

The University intends to provide any information indicated by this Guide within 5 days of request.  This may be longer if payment is required.

If you require this information in an alternative format, you should contact Durham University (see the Requesting Information section) to discuss your requirements.  There will be no additional charge (in excess of that normally charged under this Publication Scheme) for this service.
