Faith and Globalisation

Module Choices

The MA in Faith and Globalisation consists of three compulsory modules and a range of optional modules from which students can choose. The aggregate number of credits must be 180.

 Compulsory modules:

a) Core Module: Religion and Globalisation (SGIA 40130, 30 credits)

b) Research Methods: a choice of one of the following             

  • Research, Methods and Interpretation (THEO 40830, 30 credits) or
  • Social Scientific Methods in the Study of Religion (THEO 41330, 30 credits) or
  • Both Perspectives on Social Research (SOCI 59515, 15 credits) and Philosophy of Social Research (SOCI 59315, 15 credits)

c) Dissertation of 15,000 words be completed in either the School of Government and International Affairs (SGIA 40460, 60 credits) or the Department of Theology and Religion (THEO 40160, 60 credits)

Total credits for compulsory modules: 120 credits

Optional modules:

The total credits for option modules is 60 credits. Students are required to choose at least one module from Group 1 and at least one relating directly to faith/religion from either Group 1 or Group 2. All optional modules are sunject to availability and will not necessarily run every academic year.

Modes of Assessment and Course Regulations
