Grounds Maintenance
The Garden and Grounds Section is responsible for the management and maintenance of the University's grounds and woodlands, and frost and snow clearing in winter.
It is also responsible for litter picking on and around Palace Green, Science Site and other University owned sites.
The section also runs and maintains the Botanic Garden which caters for approximately 60,000 - 80,000 visitors annually.
Frost and Snow Gritting
The Unit is also responsible for the University roads and footpaths. If there is a heavy overnight frost, the clearance of ice follows an agreed priority order.
