I currently run teacher development programmes for overseas teachers and trainee teachers. I am involved in all aspects of these programmes from the planning and writing stage through to coordinating and teaching on them. Part of my work involves liasing with local schools to arrange visits and placements for students on our programmes. I also co-ordinate short summer courses for other overseas groups.

Before coming to Durham I taught English in universities and language schools in Japan and prior to that taught in colleges and schools in London and Lancashire.

Having taught English to students, of many nationalities, across, a wide age and ability range, I am particularly concerned with the practicalities of classroom teaching and classroom dynamics. This is a major element of my teaching on the MA TESOL module - Language Teaching Methods and Practice.
