Miss Huey-fen Yao (Fay)
Biography
I come from Taiwan. I got my first degree in the National Taiwan University in Taiwan, then my master's degree in Indiana University at Bloomington in the US. My research is on John Keats's poetic identity with Professor Michael O'Neill as supervisor. I am researching the reason why Keats is a major Romantic poet. My research question can be divided into three parts: a) why did Keats want to be a poet? b) what kind of a poet did he want to be? and c) what kind of poetry did he want to write?
I have presented a number of papers in national and international conferences in UK and in the USA, all focusing on Keats's major poems. The most recent one will be on the sophisticated narrative skills as reflected in 'Isabella' and 'The Eve of St Agnes' in Wordsworth Summer Conference 2010.
