Biography

Amy completed a Bachelor's degree in English Literature at Durham University in 2009, then a Master's degree in English Literature (1900-present) at the University of Oxford in 2010. She is now a PhD candidate at Durham University. Her research focusses on Northern Irish poetry between 1935 and 1950, paying particular attention to non-combatants’ experience of the Second World War. Her other research interests include contemporary Irish poetry and the influence of the Far East on Irish literature. Amy is funded by the Friedrich von Huegel Fellowship and is supervised by Professor Stephen Regan and Dr Helen O’Connell.

Amy is one of the convenors of Inventions of the Text 2012/13, a fortnightly staff and student seminar in the Department of English Studies. With Dr Helen O’Connell, she organises the Irish Studies Reading Group. She is also a tutor for the Introduction to Poetry module.
