The Regional Science Advisors provide front-line advice to local authority archaeologists and conservation officers, and to EH regional staff, on all aspects of historic environment science - such as geophysics, scientific dating, hydrology, geoarchaeology, analysis of biological remains and technological residues, and artefacts analysis and conservation. The network of our specialist expertise, plus our close contact with other scientists within English Heritage, universities and consultancies, ensures that we provide the best possible advice and in a timely fashion.

Much of that advice is provided in the context of developer-funded (PPG16) archaeology but we have a broad client-base. We are regionally-based, some in universities whilst others are in the EH regional offices.

An overview of the work in which we are involved is available as a leaflet
