Technology enhanced learning
Research areas and current projects
Our research areas cover three main spectrums of Teaching and Learning, Technology, Student support and Curriculum. We have been successful in taking forward both small and large projects. For example, members of the TEL group, along with colleagues from Education and Psychology departments have been successful in their £1.5m application to the TLRP TEL fund for the SynergyNet project.
Here is a list of our current research areas:
- SynergyNet Project (Multi-Touch in Education)
- Collaborative multi-touch development
- Replicator - 3D scanning and printing for multidisciplinary research
- Web-based education
- Folksonomies and feedback

PhD Opportunities
Our research group is large, lively, dynamic, and growing, however we still have opportunities for PhD applicants to work with the group either full time or part time. We are working on diverse research themes, so if you are interested in studying for a PhD with us, then we encourage you to contact one of our supervisory team members to discuss your specific research interests. When completing the online PhD application, please explicitly state that you wish to work within TEL, and if you have a particular research idea, make this clear also.
