6th UK Conference on Boundary Integral Methods

Durham, 17-18 September 2007

This was the sixth in a series of conferences that have become known for a friendly exchange of ideas on boundary integral and boundary element methods. Held every two years, the meetings provide the ideal forum for experienced researchers and postgraduate students to discuss their latest work. Principally attended by UK-based researchers, those from overseas are also particularly welcome (this 6th UKBIM meeting attracted authors from 18 countries). The friendly tone of the meetings, and the relatively low cost of attendance, have made this series of meetings the ideal place for postgraduate students to present their work for the first time. The papers presented at the conference have been published in a volume of Proceedings.

This meeting was held in the beautiful city of Durham, in the North East of England. Durham University is the third oldest in England, and the small city is well known for its majestic Norman cathedral and attractive riverside footpaths. Directly across Palace Green from the cathedral lies Durham Castle, which was the venue for the Conference Dinner.
