Electronic systems

Here, research concentrates on the design and validation of new electronic systems spanning through computation, capture and control, to the conversion of data. The team has over £1M of equipment dedicated to analysing and synthesising electronic and optical signals between DC and 20GHz; from picovolts to kilovolts. Collaboration with Sheffield University has secured EPSRC funding with industrial sponsorship in 3D electronics using holographic lithography. A Durham University patent has been filed for this work. A strong design team is also investigating massively parallel digital signal processing systems to design a new generation of smart instrumentation.
