Biomedical Engineering Research Group

With increasing longevity and improved expectation of life quality, the Biomedical Engineering Research Group aims to develop and provide further understanding of advanced biomaterials including new alternatives for orthopaedic implants, soft tissues, and bioengineering ocular solutions through a combination of experimentation and numerical modelling.

The Biomedical Engineering Research Group provides state-of-the art facilities for advanced biomaterials characterisations and the in vitro evaluation of prosthetic hips, knees and ankles; and works with a number of industrial and clinical partners.
