Industrial problem solving

In L3, students on most streams have the opportunity to partake in Industrial Problem Solving, this is a two week activity where students spend time in the classroom and then out in industry.
Before going into the companies they are given a 'tool kit' in the School, including presentation skills & practice, to support the range of projects covered, half of which are related to product design and half to manufacturing effectiveness.
These projects are a long way from from 'work experience' and the students work as technical consultants to produce real solutions to real world problems in local companies. The experience is valued both by the students who get to work on live projects and procedures and the companies who get highly motivated, bright and enthusiastic people to assist with pressing issues.
