This page provides an index to a number of core resources that we hope will be of use to everyone interested in the ideas of EBSE.

• We provide a database of details of published evidence-based studies, including any recommendations for practice/teaching that have been derived from these.
• We have collated a glossary [pdf] of terms used to describe empirical software engineering in general. Part of our rationale for doing this is that many primary studies do not provide clear or well-structured reports of their practices, and that the empirical terminology is often used inaccurately. By encouraging others to use a standard set of terms we hope to encourage better reporting standards.
• We provide a set of guidelines for conducting systematic literature reviews in software engineering. These draw upon the experiences obtained from other disciplines as well as those acquired from conducting systematic reviews in software engineering and are updated as knowledge of EBSE develops.
• For researchers who are conducting primary studies, we offer some templates that can be used to help create research protocols or plans.
• Our site contains an archive where researchers can register research protocols and provide copies of the technical reports describing the outcomes.
• We maintain a bibliography of documents that are associated in any way with evidence-based research, including those related to both primary studies and secondary studies. Entries are provided as both plain text and in BibTeX format. Suggestions for further documents to include in the bibliography are welcome.
