Glossary - statistical power
The ability of a statistical test to reveal a true pattern in the data (Wohlin, Runeson, Host, Ohlsson, Regnell & Wesslen 2000). If the power is low, then there is a high risk of drawing an erroneous conclusion. For a detailed discussion of statistical power in software engineering studies, see (Dybå et al. 2006).
