Rocks and Landscape of the North Pennines

A group of consortium members headed by Stuart Jones have successfully obtained funding for £48,000 from the AONB and Durham Council to develop innovative and exciting teaching resources for school children at key stages 1 to 4 based around the geology of the North Pennines. The consortium consisting of Durham University, Harehope Quarry Project Ltd and Cassop Primary School hope to further develop a ‘rock box’ scheme that after testing in the Weardale area will be delivered nationally.
