Staff Information

We actively encourage both staff and students at the university to contact us with any queries they may have. Issues surrounding disability and disability support can be complex. DUSSD staff are trained to give advice and guidance in this specialist area.

Staff specifically may have personal concerns or queries regarding the following:

• I am a member of university staff with a disability. Who should I speak to about support?
• I am a member of university staff and I suspect I may have a previously undetected specific learning difference (SpLD).

Equally, staff may have concerns about students they are supporting.

DUSSD can offer advice and guidance on:

• How to develop inclusive teaching practice
• Making reasonable adjustments
• How to encourage student disclosure
• Sources of staff support within the university
• Disability Awareness training
