Richard Flint, MEng, MIET, AMIMechE

Richard has been involved with DUSC since January 2005. He was project manager from January 2005 until October 2007, overseeing all tasks and ensuring deadlines were met.

Richard now works as an electromechanical engineer for Chiltern Railways but will continue to be involved with the DUSC project, assisting with preparations for and activities during race events.

Richard graduated from the MEng course at Durham with honours in June 2007. He specialised in New & Renewable Energy and undertook a final year project which sought to increase the amount of renewable energy that can be integrated into electricity distribution networks by utilising the thermal properties of network equipment, under the supervision of Dr. Phil Taylor.

Richard competed in the 2007 World Solar Challenge with the Gwawr Cymru, which is based in the UK, and was a driver in the DUSC team for the 2008 North American Solar Challenge.
