The Durham University Solar Car (DUSC) is a student led project to design and build a solar powered car and compete in international events such as the Global Green Challenge and American Solar Challenge, as well as promoting renewable energy technologies nationwide.

First established in 2004, the team competed in their first event, the North American Solar Challenge, in July 2008 as the UK’s only entrant.

2011 saw the team compete in the world’s premier solar car race – the World Solar Challenge.

The DUSC team are currently working on designing and building a new, state of the art solar car  to compete in the upcoming 2013 World Solar Challenge.
